My large Central Government client has an urgent requirement for a finance assistant to work in Central London
Responsibilities:
To help provide analysis of administration costs financial performance for business segments within the company.
To assist the Finance Business Partner with transactional activities (journals, accruals etc) to ensure the integrity of the figures reported is maintained.
To assist with the production of documentation and analysis to facilitate budget reviews for FD and Business Partner to lead engagement with the business.
Assist in the maintenance of the General Ledger to ensure a smooth translation from management accounts to financial accounts
Work with the business area focal points to understand, query and challenge the assumptions within admin costs and review actuals with them on a monthly basis.
Take part in the collaborative working with the Financial Accounts team for the lead up to the production of the 2011/12 Admin annual accounts.
Essential
Part qualified accountant or candidate working towards an accountancy qualification.
A thorough and up-to-date knowledge of Oracle financial systems & related functionality.
Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills with a sound understanding of key analysis tools, with an ability to learn in the role.
Experience of accounting in a public sector environment.
Security clearance will be part of this role (Disclosure Scotland) this will need to be applied for as soon as possible.
