Lean Consultant - Edinburgh - 6 months + -£400-500p/d
RZ Group's financial services client is looking for an experience Lean Consultant to join their major change programme in Edinburgh on an initial 6 month contract basis.
Purpose of the role/accountabilities:
The purpose of this role is to work with the business at all organisational levels to ensure that the Lean approach is sustained and built upon.
The Lean Consultant plays a key role in supporting ongoing continuous improvement of end-to-end processes across Finance by provision of hands on coaching as required. It is the role of the Lean Sustain Manager to support the businesses in the successful embedding and ongoing adherence to Lean ways of working following the initial Lean implementation.
*Stakeholder management at Executive/Senior Manager level across the Group as required to build a culture of continuous improvement.
*Work with Finance teams to develop local continuous improvement culture and plans.
*Coach and support local Sustain Managers, Finance Team Managers and their teams to develop their understanding and practical application of Lean techniques to improve delivery to customer and other KPIs.
*Contribute to Lean training programmes to support Lean ways of working and knowledge transfer.
*Support and encourage best practice sharing between Divisions via knowledge sharing forums and Monthly Sustain Board.
*Identify, capture and appropriately escalate risks and issues impacting on sustainability.
Experience Required:
*Understanding and experience of Lean deployment within Financial services
*Process re-design and improvement
*Arranging and conducting operational performance assessments (eg audits)
*Significant knowledge of finance controls and key risk management techniques
*Understanding of financial systems and processes
*Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex issues to a wide range of staff
*Self-confidence and interpersonal skills to command respect and develop collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders
*Proven ability to influence at senior levels and inspire change
*A flexible approach to work with the ability to accept/champion change with a passion for and track record of delivering continuous improvement
*Manage a team
*Ability to travel within the UK which may require time away from home (some overseas travel possible)
Technical Knowledge:
*Ability to train and coach on key Lean techniques
*Project management skills will be beneficial
*Ability to analyse, summarise and problem solve complex issues
*Understanding of key Finance processes and activities
