My Client is a leading independent Healthcare provider and has many centres nationwide covering GP practices, Walk in Centres, Urgent Care Centres, CATs projects, Prisons and OOH services.
We are recruiting for Nurse Practitioners with a Prescribing qualification to work on a Locum basis for a recently established NHS Treatment centre based within the Central Middlesex Hospital, Brent. We are looking for NPs who can work days/nights/weekends as these services will be 24 hours a day 365 days a year and you can choose to work on a Locum or Permanent basis.
Sessions will commence Mon 28th March and are generally in blocks of 6, 8 and 12 hours.
Your primary duties are to assist in the provision of a quality, GP led service to patients attending the Urgent and Unscheduled Care Service. You will often work autonomously within your sphere of competency whilst being a support and resource to less experienced members of staff.
Although autonomous Practice is an expectation, the ability to work across multi disciplinary boundaries and in accordance with a Doctor's instruction is crucial with interdependency between nursing and medical functions a critical indicator of success.
For clarity, Urgent and Unscheduled Care Services are provided to those who do not, or cannot access their GP for treatment for minor ailments and injury and currently seek care in a Hospital Emergency Department. The focus here is to develop an Urgent Care Service to work alongside with the Hospital Departments and so bring down waiting times, reduce the burden on Hospital staff and create a more efficient GP Led and Nurse supported service.
You will have a keen interest to educate, provide leadership and have a flexible approach to working in practice and a willingness to develop new approaches to care. A contributing factor is to demonstrate confidence and competence in the treatment of minor injuries in both adults and children.
The Locum NP will have full registration with the NMC, a minimum of 4 years post qualification practice with the last year being in either a Emergency Care, Urgent Care, a Walk in Centre or a clinical environment where children and adults receive unscheduled care. You will also have attained an Advanced registered qualification in Nurse Prescribing, Minor Injuries or Minor Ailments treatment. Having further degree level qualifications in any of the following will be a greatly advantageous: Health Education, Public Health, Primary Care, Psychology, Management or and/or Governance.
A comprehensive Job description and Person Specification is available on request.
Hourly rate for Locums is £30.50 gross, paid weekly.
