Hardware Lab Technician - Contract

Purpose of the Hardware Lab Technician - Contract role.
This client has a hardware development team that develops the platforms on which their software runs. The hardware platforms consist primarily of Real Time software processing units (Microprocessor, DSP, FPGA and high performance processor interconnectivity) linked through to RF up/down converters or I+Q connections to the UE.

For 2G, 3G and LTE testing to ensure that multiple test systems can connect to a single UE via RF our client has also developed an RF combiner unit.

Some of this development is done utilising COTS components and some bespoke hardware design (most of which is subcontracted). There is also use of bought in complete third party products.

The long term aim is to decrease the proportion of bought in/outsourced hardware and increase the amount of in-house development in areas where our client perceives the value to their customers and shareholders.

To allow for this further expansion and the capability to do more in-house development they wish to further develop their hardware development team.

Therefore a self-motivated technician with hardware development support experience with a bias towards RF Telecoms and Test Equipment is required.

Essential Skills of the Hardware Lab Technician - Contract
