Winvale launches IT jobs app
US-based government contracts consultancy Winvale has developed an iPhone app designed for IT contractors providing access to relevant news.
Mobile Gov IT gives information on the US government technology marketplace, including details of the $79.4 billion (£50.2 billion) of IT spending for the financial year of 2011.
Additionally, the app provides mobile access to the latest government IT news, chief information officer blogs and budget forecasts.
"As both a government IT contractor and a contracts consultancy, we wanted to design an app that meets the needs of today’s technology professionals," said Brian Dunn, Managing Partner at Winvale.
"We view ourselves as pioneers in this industry and strive to be a resource for government contractors."
According to Gerry McLaughlin of ITContractor.com, today's IT jobs employers are looking for experience and skills more than qualifications, although he accepted that the right credentials will always help applicants stand out from the crowd.
