Topping search engine rankings is 'the holy grail'

IT contractors helping businesses with online sales have been informed that reaching the top of search engine rankings is the "holy grail".
While large companies are recognising the benefits of search engine optimisation (SEO), smaller companies can still compete by taking an intelligent approach, according to SEO Junkies.
Google's algorithms scan websites for relevant and up-to-date information and are always changing, which makes SEO a "constant battle", claims SEO Junkies director Di Forster, speaking at Internet World.
She said: "Google is a massive brand now, so it's got to serve up the correct results, so you have to be natural with your site.
"It has to feel right, because Google will only give you that credibility if you've got that authority and if you are relevant."
Digital demand generation and online relationship building is a top priority for 46 per cent of businesses this year, according to the Chief Marketing Officer Council.
