Tax burden 'reducing opportunities for IT contractors'
In order for IT contractors to experience an active jobs market it is crucial for the government to take steps to reduce the tax burden on companies, a leading organisation has claimed.

Research by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and ICM has found that these companies are eager to grow but are being held back by the burden of taxation.

Half of those asked claimed that these pressures had resulted in a negative impact on the number of staff they were taking on.

The FSB is calling on the government to freeze National Insurance Contributions in order to stimulate the growth of companies.

A rebate should also be provided to firms with fewer than 50 staff who take on workers during the 2010-11 period, IT contractors may be interested to discover.

Earlier this month, IDC reported that IT departments could have a key role in lifting the UK out of the recession during 2010.ADNFCR-2994-ID-19619595-ADNFCR
