Stricter IR35 'here to stay'

A stricter and more rigid IR35 is going to be in place until the basic tax issues are tackled, one website has said.
ContractorCalculator.co.uk claims that data it has gathered shows that a realistic IR35 is a long way away, as tax legislation would have to be altered to make it possible.
The introduction of IR35 has been "devastating" for contractors, according to the site and a fairer and simpler system is unlikely to come to pass.
"IR35 is anti-democratic and anti-free market, acting as a legislative bullying device to force workers into roles they did not choose and do not want," continues the article.
Meanwhile, Dave Fleming, sales director at Badenoch & Clark, said that wages are likely to see a hike in the coming months as employers compete to gain the top talent available in the market.
