Small firms that can help save public costs 'will do well'
IT contractors that can help public bodies to save money will do well in the aftermath of the Comprehensive Spending Review (CSR), it is claimed.

Hundreds of thousands of public sector jobs are to be lost as par of the cost-cutting exercise, according to most widely-reported estimates, so ByteStart suggests that any help public bodies can get to reduce outgoings will be in demand.

The small business website believes that most small companies, such as those operated by IT contractors, will feel the pinch.

"Those businesses reliant on the public sector will probably be most affected. But, as well as threats, there will be opportunities," said ByteStart director Emyr Williams.

He goes on to add that most small firms understand that the CSR will, in the long run, create a stronger economy.

The government recently announced that it is to spend an extra £250 million each year, producing 75,000 extra apprenticeship places annually.ADNFCR-2994-ID-800155351-ADNFCR
