Scotland one of the world's 'most inventive' nations
IT contractors would be sensible to establish themselves in Scotland as the country is "one of the most inventive" in the world.

This is the suggestion of the Caledonian Mercury's David Calder, who paid homage to the nation's technological advances after visiting Glasgow's Scottish Technology Showcase.

Citing the Scottish Enterprise Innovation's Ruth Andrew, Mr Calder wrote that the aim of the event was "collaboration" - in order to take Scotland's technology and IT industries forward, people, companies and academics need to come together.

Lena Wilson, Scottish Enterprise's chief executive, said during her speech at the conference that she hoped Scotland will soon be in a position to "exploit" enabling technologies.

"We've recently completed market analysis on sensors and cloud computing, with a view to identifying where we can encourage collaboration best to exploit these opportunities," the newspaper quoted her as saying.

Among the other keynote speakers at the event were Microsoft, Cisco and BAE Systems.ADNFCR-2994-ID-19805300-ADNFCR
