Recruitment industry 'must embrace new technology'
The future of the recruitment industry will be dominated by advancements in technology, creating jobs for IT contractors, according to a new report.

Eight technological trends will "change the landscape" of recruitment over the next decade, according to the Technology 2020 report, produced by the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC).

These include the convergence of cloud computing, green IT technology, the growth of social networking sites and the need to interact with the next generation of mobile devices.

Recruiters that embrace these trends the quickest and modify their business practices accordingly will win the most business, according to Kevin Green, chief executive of the REC.

"This new guide provides us with a launch pad for discussion and debate on how the recruitment industry will be affected by the rapid, unstoppable march of the new technologies," said Jeff Brooks, chair of the REC's Technology Sector Group.

Data centre provider BlueSquare Data also recently claimed that job opportunities for IT contractors would continue to increase as cloud computing is embraced by the business world.ADNFCR-2994-ID-19696054-ADNFCR
