REC highlights its key policy campaigns for 2010
A leading recruiter organisation has outlined its key policy campaigns for the next 12 months, which could affect IT contractors.

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has devised its campaigns in addition to its sectoral initiatives, which will include a focus on technology.

Among the areas where it will be focusing on are the agency workers directive and EU-level labour market policy.

Procurement, pensions and tax issues are also going to be topics which the REC will concentrate its energies on.

Anne Fairweather, head of public policy at the organisation, claims that it will be taking forward industry messages that are likely to impact on recruiters and IT contractors using these companies.

She says: "The political debates on these and other issues over the coming months will provide a further opportunity for positioning the industry as a key commentator on a broad range of employment and economic issues."

Kevin Green, chief executive of the organisation, recently claimed that the number of IT contractor jobs on the market has risen.ADNFCR-2994-ID-19548228-ADNFCR
