Part-time work 'could benefit IT contractors'
IT contractors struggling to find new positions could benefit from taking on part-time roles, an organisation has claimed.

John Philpott, chief economic advisor for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, claims that the lack of available jobs is affecting everybody.

He suggests that a failure to earn money can be a major issue for many IT contractors, with part-time work being a good way to keep an income coming in between projects.

Despite this, he highlights the importance of avoiding developing a long-term dependency on part-time work due to the affect this can have on living standards.

Mr Philpott states: "It would largely depend upon the strength of the economic recovery and how long it takes for the jobs market to get back to normal."

Earlier this month, research at IDC suggested that IT contractors will have a key role to play in lifting the country out of recession, with the transformational affect of this sector impacting on many industries.ADNFCR-2994-ID-19624798-ADNFCR
