OTS 'will have huge impact' on IT contractors.
The work of the Office of Tax Simplification (OTS) will have a huge impact on the day-to-day lives of IT contractors, it is claimed.
In light of this, the Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) will be in constant contact with the department, passing on the thoughts of IT contractors an people with the technology sector.
It is important to maintain a presence, the REC claims, in order to ensure that government promises regarding the review and replacement of IR35 tax legislation are honoured.
Paul Botting, chair of the REC's Interim Management Association said: "A review of IR35 is long overdue and will help to simplify flexible working options.
"Interim executives and managers are key drivers for both growth and efficiencies and should not be stifled by an overly complex tax system."
IT contractors and small firms currently spend a "disproportionate" amount of time working with tax legislation, the former president of the Chartered Institute of Taxation Andrew Hubbard claimed last week.
