More medium-sized businesses to use contractors
More medium-sized businesses will outsource IT services in 2011, according to one expert.

Gerry McLaughlin, of ITContractor.com said that the trend for hiring IT contractors will grow next year, but it will not just be the big businesses that outsource.

He added that skills such as C#, C++, Java, .Net. Banking and those with financial experience will be in high demand.

"However, many companies who outsourced in the past are now insourcing again as they didn't get the cost benefits that they expected and lost control of the vital IT side of their businesses," he went on to warn.

This comes after technology giant HP announced it had secured a $400 million (£258.4 million) contract to deliver outsourced IT services to oil giant BP.

HP will deliver consist global data centre services enabling BP to standardise and combine its hosting services and use new innovations such as cloud computing.
