Job location 'is most important factor' for IT contractors
The location of a job remains the number one issue for most IT contractors considering employment opportunities.

This is according to recruitment agency CV Screen, which claims that IT contractors are keen to ensure that excessive travel time does not begin to affect their work-life balance.

Research from the firm found that the average IT worker travels 15.6 miles to their workplace, taking around 28 minutes to complete the journey.

CV Screen director Matthew Iveson said that based on a similar survey conducted in September 2007, the fact that the figures are much the same is particularly surprising.

He said: "We expected that within an unstable IT jobs market, commuting times would increase as candidates would be forced to travel further afield.

"This has not been the case at all, therefore reinforcing the importance of location."

ITContractor.com's Gerry McLaughlin recently claimed that a lack of computer literacy in the UK will mean IT contractors will stay in demand.ADNFCR-2994-ID-800048407-ADNFCR
