IT contractors warned that Q2 recovery will not be sustained
IT contractors who have taken heart from the recent positive news regarding the UK economy and its effect on jobs should perhaps not get too carried away.

The Office for National Statistics announced last week that GDP had risen by 1.1 per cent in the second quarter of 2010 - twice what experts had been expecting.

However, the editor of Investment and Business News Michael Baxter has warned that this will be as good as it gets for the rest of the year.

In fact, quarter two will probably be the best performer, with growth in the second half of the year not being as good.

The effects of the emergency Budget have not yet been felt and when they are, growth will be reduced, Mr Baxter added.
