IT contractors to get access to 100Mbps broadband

IT contractors working from home may soon be able to benefit from a new 100Mbps broadband service.
Virgin Media has announced that it will be offering this superfast broadband to various part of the country, which could provide IT contractors with a much more reliable and efficient way of working from home.
The Daily Telegraph reports that the move could really kick-start the competition from BT, which expects to roll out 110Mbps broadband in the spring.
Reacting to the news, Michael Phillips, product director at BroadbandChoices.co.uk, said that consumers will really benefit from the gauntlet that Virgin Media has laid down.
"Whilst Virgin Media's new 100Mbs product will come with a justifiably high price tag, it will be interesting to see whether the British public will be tempted away from their compulsion for cheap deals," he added.
On hearing of Virgin's announcement, prime minister David Cameron described the rollout as "very exciting".
