IT Contractors to enjoy 'bumper year'

Contractors and permanent employees in the IT industry can expect a "bumper year" in 2011, according to ITContractor.com.
However, Gerry McLaughlin of the site does warn that supply may struggle to meet the demand of IT sector staff.
Mr McLaughlin added that although the public sector will be cutting back, the private sector will more than make up for it.
"The IT contractor market picked up first and now the permanent jobs market is making the running. The big banks and financial institutions are now competing for IT staff and contractors again," he said
This comes after a survey by the IT Job Board revealed that 72 per cent of IT managers do not believe the recession is over for the IT industry.
In addition, 61 per cent of managers in the sector claimed that the recession had impacted their department, with 56 per cent believing it will be 2012 before the sector emerges.
