IT contractors 'must keep on top of tech developments'
IT contractors looking for job openings at the top of the industry need to stay aware of the latest technological developments.

This is the view of Richard Nott, website director at CWJobs.co.uk, who claims that specialist skills at the cutting-edge of technology will make an IT contractor stand out from the rest.

Cloud computing appears to a particular draw, with 60 per cent of IT workers who responded to a CWJobs.co.uk survey saying that the shift to virtualised networks will create job opportunities.

Mr Nott explained: "It's an ever-evolving and ever-changing market and the pace of change is always very quick in IT.

"It's important for people to keep up-to-date to find out where the best opportunities are for them."

Consulting services company IBM recently established that 91 per cent of IT workers believe cloud computing will become more popular than on-premise systems in the next five years.
