IT contractors 'must increase quality of firms' wireless security'

Companies must take further steps to protect their wireless networks from cyber attacks in the face of rising threat levels, according to one expert.
IT contractors must use a variety of technologies in a layered security process to protect these systems, claims networking solutions company Brocade.
Earlier this week, it was widely reported that there has been a significant increase in sales of 'cyber attack kits', which can help hackers access wireless networks.
IT security firm Symantec believes these cyber attack kits are becoming easier to get hold of, which is directly contributing to an increase in threats which are directed at companies.
Simon Pamplin, systems engineer pre-sales manager for UK and Ireland for Brocade, recommends the use of triangulation software to fight back against cyber criminals.
"By using triangulation with multiple access points you can work out where that signal is coming from and use wireless prevention, [to] prevent that person in Sainsbury's next to your building from getting into your network," he said.
