IT contractors given boost by positive signs in private sector

IT contractors looking for jobs in the private sector following public sector cuts can take heart from the latest market outlook.
Private firms are beginning to look for more flexibility in their candidates, particularly concerning contract hours, contract lengths and remuneration, according to John Salt, website editor for TotalJobs.com
Those candidates who can compromise with employers will have a distinct benefit over others, conditions that experienced IT contractors can take advantage of.
Experience is also a big plus for any potential employee, as this will always be in demand from employers, Mr Salt explained.
"There are always opportunities for good people, especially for those that have transferable skills and experience," he concluded.
In the latest report by TotalJobs.com, it has been claimed that a two-speed jobs market is developing within the UK.
Some sectors such as finance and telecommunications are experiencing high demand for employees, while people in other sectors such as nursing and education are facing the most difficult conditions for a decade, the report found.
