IT Contractors: Employers will not see benefits of cloud until it is fully deployed
Organisations will not see the cost saving benefits of cloud computing until the technology has been fully deployed in 2011, according to one expert.

This could be good news for IT contractors for who cloud computing could bring in a substantial amount of work and continue to do so.

Dr John Bates, chief technology officer of Progress Software, said that once cloud technology has been embraced by businesses will they see its financial benefits.

"I have heard over 60 definitions of what the cloud actually means from various people this year. Cloud computing is simply a natural evolution of virtualisation, service-oriented architecture and utility computing," he added.

Meanwhile, the Centre for Economics and Business Research has found that if companies across Europe's five largest economies embrace cloud computing as expected, ?177.3 billion (£148.7 billion) will be generated by 2015.
