IT contractors 'could see rise in jobs installing VoIP systems'

IT contractors looking for jobs will soon be able to benefit from the rising number of companies being attracted into deploying voice-over-internet-protocol (VoIP) systems, an expert has suggested.
George Van Horn, senior analyst at IBISWorld, claimed that in the past three quarters of those with this technology were residential users but that this trend is going to change.
He stated: "As technology of the product and service improves it is likely that growth will accelerate and businesses will switch to this platform."
Among the key draws that will lead companies to hire IT contractors for the purpose of deploying this technology will be cost savings, he claimed.
Mr Van Horn said that these arguments will become increasingly compelling for companies as the phone quality of VoIP models rises.
According to figures published by IBISWorld, VoIP has been the best performing industry of the decade according to the measure of accumulative revenue growth from 2000 to 2009.
