IT contractors could benefit from renewed jobs confidence

Job prospects for IT contractors in London appear to be improving, based on the results of a survey by Ambition.
The firm found that there are currently nine vacancies for every ten skilled candidates actively seeking employment, and this number is expected to reach 12 vacancies for every ten candidates by the end of the year.
At the lowest point of the recession, just three positions were available for every ten applicants.
Reacting to the news, Reed Finance's divisional director Tim Vye said that there is a broad outlook of growing optimism in the jobs market.
With the number of vacancies expected to outweigh the number of candidates, firms are likely to start raising the bar in terms of the qualifications required to be eligible for the position.
"However as the battle for talent intensifies, employers will tend to become slightly more flexible with how they view their wish list requirements for candidates," Mr Vye concluded.
