IT contractors 'could be drawn to Manchester's new fibre network'
Manchester could become an increasingly important destination for IT contractors following the launch of its new fibre network, an expert has suggested.

Dan Grabham, editor of TechRadar.com, claimed that this is a significant move for the city and will be a key attraction for companies deciding where to base their operations.

He said that this will be a significant improvement over more localised networks, although these may not work on a nationwide scale.

"If the Manchester scheme is successful, though, I can certainly see other large cities deploying similar projects," he asserted.

Mr Grabham highlighted the fact that the scheme is being funded by the North West Development Agency and describes it as a clever initiative.

IT contractors may be interested to discover that the deal was agreed between Corridor Manchester and the Manchester Digital Development Agency and intends to provide all users along the corridor to access next-generation fibre broadband.ADNFCR-2994-ID-19579583-ADNFCR
