IT contractor jobs set for pre and post-2011 boost?

The spike in IT contractor hiring last month may have been the result of organisation technology managers having more freedom.
December is traditionally one of the busier months in IT recruitment, as business slows down and employers have the opportunity to plan for the following year, according to Langley James.
However, the IT recruitment agency's founder, James Toovey, explained that the growing availability of jobs in this sector may continue into 2011.
He noted: "It's going to carry on expanding, the reason being that they've cleared out a lot of deadwood and whereas in 2009 there was a knee jerk reaction to it, now companies are actually looking for IT to save costs."
Mr Toovey also advised companies to consider bringing in more trainees, rather than expecting new employees to hit the ground running.
His comments follow the publication of a new report by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, which revealed a strong rate of expansion in jobs for IT and computing workers.
