IT contractor job vacancies 'on the rise'
The number of permanent and temporary job vacancies for contractors and IT professionals have increased, new figures show.

Research by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) and KPMG has shown that the growth in these has increased by the fastest rate for years.

Kevin Green, chief executive of the REC, says that the recovery of the jobs market is accelerating, with vacancies and employer confidence also on the rise.

He states: "Despite the increase in demand for both temporary and permanent staff, the jobs market will remain extremely competitive, particularly for younger candidates."

Mr Green calls on the government to ensure that new EU regulations on agency work do not halt this recovery and continues to allow the creation of new jobs.

Those looking for work will increasingly be incorporating social media platforms into their search during 2010, group vice president of solutions at Jobpartners Richard Doherty has claimed, suggesting that companies will become more confident using this channel.ADNFCR-2994-ID-19543177-ADNFCR
