iPhone tax app 'could help contractors'
A new iPhone application could have benefits for IT contractors, it has been claimed.
The UK Tax Wizard application, available on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad, can help self-employed people to calculate exactly how much tax and National Insurance they need to pay, according to TechRadar.com.
Produced by Arbor Media, the app claims to be the most advanced on the market, taking into account factors such as age, marital status, how the income is earned and whether a company car is owned.
Dan Graham, deputy editor at Tech Radar.com, said that people are still mystified by the complex tax system, so this application could help IT contractors make sense of what is going on.
However, he warns that this product should not replace the role of the traditional tax expert.
"Anything that can help to broaden our knowledge is good, but we still need those traditional experts to go to," he said.
