Increasing contractors 'means less available work'

The demand for contractors is decreasing as rising numbers of people are choosing the career path amid a failing jobs market.
Dave Chaplin, chief executive officer of ContractorCalculator.co.uk, has said that this issue has been building up for some time.
He said that so far in 2011, ContractorCalculator has had unique hits than ever before, with more than 130,000 individuals alone visiting the site in January.
"Recruitment surveys such as the latest KPMG/Recruitment and Employment Confederation Report on Jobs shows that availability of contract and temporary staff continued to rise in January, in line with the trend since April 2008," added Mr Chaplin.
This comes after Dave Fleming, sales director at Badenoch & Clark, said that the increase in the recruitment of contractors and permanent staff in January is "extremely promising".
He added that these figures could be indicative of more growth in the coming months.
