HMRC offer IT contractors a helping hand
Self-employed IT contractors struggling to understand their tax returns will benefit from the free advice being offered by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) at an open-day.

HMRC will dispense all kinds of advice on its tax and business support initiatives, including how to delay payments where necessary.

Any IT contractors looking to start their own firm will also get a run down of what they need to know through seminars and one-to one advice.

Roger Lovell, HMRC business liaison team manager, said: "It's inevitable that some people will find tax issues daunting, or be worried about meeting their liabilities during today’s tough times."

The event takes place on March 11th 2010 at Shrewsbury Town Football Club's Pro Star Stadium.

Advice on how best to negotiate that tax system may be welcomed by the small business community.

The Federation of Small Businesses has revealed that more than half of UK small businesses find tax payments are restricting their ability to grow.
