Highly skilled IT contractors needed, says expert

There is a place for more highly skilled IT contractors and other technological professionals in the jobs market, according to one expert.
Maggie Berry, managing director of Women in Technology said that finding a candidate with the right calibre of skills can sometimes be a challenge.
However, she added that there is currently no specific skills shortages although securing an IT job in the banking and firms sector is competitive.
"Looking at the IT sector more widely, I would say that a career in technology can pay well and offers lots of exciting roles that [cater] directly to the business and have a positive impact on the company's bottom line," she added.
Women in Technology provides services to help female technologists including a recruitment service, online IT job board, networking events, personal development and career-orientated training courses and provides IT news.
This comes after technology trade body Intellect said that IT contractors could play a role in reforming the NHS.
