European IT contractor demand 'will rise'
The demand for IT contractors in mainland Europe is set to rise in the coming year, according to one expert.

Jean-Louis Bravard of Burnt Oak Partners has made ten outsourcing forecasts for 2011 on computerweekly.com.

Number three on his list is the prediction that "European governments will reluctantly copy the UK and actively outsource".

Other predictions include one of the top five Indian pure play making a significant gain of a European player and data centres making a comeback.

Additionally, he says, the cloud will have a tough time as clients will find it difficult to make processes virtual.

Meanwhile, Rebecca Burn-Callander, deputy editor of SME advice website Smarta.com, has said that small and medium-sized enterprises will look to hire contractors in the New Year to avoid the hassle of employing permanent staff.
