Customers demanding better technology from banks
IT contractors may be needed in the financial services sector, as consumers demand more from their banks.

According to a survey conducted by Adeptra, 98 per cent of account holders want to see their bank notify them of any potential fraud on their account within one hour.

In addition, 81 per cent confirmed that they would prefer an automated message than a call from an outsourced call centre.

Bill Brown, director of global product strategy for Adeptra said: "Technology is not about broadcasting to consumers or even one touch communications to resolve a single problem.

"It's about building relationships and responding in a timely, personalised and relevant manner."

He is now urging banks to seize this opportunity to meet customer demand, which could result in jobs for IT contractors helping to implement these systems.

A recent survey by Morgan McKinley found that job vacancies in the London financial district have risen by 71 per cent in the last 12 months.
