IT contractors using iPhones as part of their business operations have been given a stark warning about the security of the devices.
According to Kaspersky Lab, many users are tend to opt for Android-powered phones as they are more flexible for developers.
The group's senior technology consultant David Emm suggests that many iPhone users faced with this issue are unlocking their handsets to get this versatility.
However, Mr Emm claims that this makes them much more vulnerable to malware, so IT contractors relying on them for business use need to take more care to ensure their security.
"With any system you have a trade off between something that is locked down but less flexible and something that is more open and gives potentially more avenues to people who want to abuse the system as well," he said.
Mobile Business editor Heather McLean recently revealed that the iPhone is quickly becoming the phone of choice for corporate users, surpassing the BlackBerry.
