Contractors 'will welcome red tape reduction'
Contractors and other small businesses in the UK will welcome the reduction in red tape by the government, according to one expert.

Chris Fletcher, of the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, said businesses will generally welcome the release from the "unnecessary burdens" red tape causes.

However, he did add that some proposals are concerning for businesses, particularly about the removal of rights to request flexible working.

"I'm convinced that this will not see the end of flexible working or other effective methods of employing staff in many businesses," he added.

Furthermore, Mr Fletcher said it is crucial businesses get as much help, support and space as they can in order to focus on growth.

This comes after business minister Mark Prisk revealed the government's proposals for the Growth Review which included a moratorium to exempt businesses with under ten employees and start ups from new domestic regulation for three years.
