Contractors will leave the recession stronger, expert predicts

Many contractors could leave the recession stronger than they entered it, according to one commentator.
Martin Lyne, director of small to medium enterprise at T-Mobile, has said that during the recession, small businesses made proactive changes to the way they work.
"With many looking to develop in new ways, extending into new markets and developing products and services, this sense of ambition and optimism is set to continue and stand them in good stead for any further economic upheaval," he explained.
Meanwhile, research from T-Mobile found 58 per cent of UK small business owners feel positive about the future of their business, with 55 per cent saying their company is in a better position to succeed than it was one year ago.
Additionally, 48 per cent predict their firm will experience business growth over the next six months and 24 per cent say they have made difficult changes to the way their company operates in order to survive in a tough economic climate.
