Contractors should 'try before they buy'

IT contractors should try out new products before they invest in them, one expert has said.
Will Findlater, editor of Stuff magazine, has said that for those who work in the business, the main issue is ergonomics rather than user-friendliness.
He said that important things to consider are whether the individual's thumbs are nimble enough to press a certain button, whether the weight is right and whether it sits comfortably in its place.
However, he added that user-friendliness is absolutely key to a product's success.
"Devices such as the iPod made interacting with technology not only intuitive but pleasurable, and manufacturers are always trying to help users get more out of their products."
This comes after recent survey by Accenture found that more than half of British and US consumers experience frustration when trying to use everyday electronic devices.
Additionally, the research revealed a strong demand for more intelligent devices that are easier to use.
