Contractors 'should give out freebies'

Contractors could maintain a good rapport with clients by giving out promotional items, one expert has said.
John Mason, events and experiential manager of Sans Frontiere said that due to the rise in social media, people are more likely to feel that a brand owes them something because they have been engaged with it.
He cited whiskey brand Jack Daniels as a good example of this, saying they send out high quality freebies such as bottle openers and money clips that, in the long run, are fairly cheap.
"In my eyes, it is live marketing and experiential marketing. That is the brand actually engaging with its consumer in face-to-face marketing capacity," he added.
This comes after Peter Panayotou, senior consultant at The Write Stuff, said that it is vital for contractors and other professionals to ensure their CV is as good as it can possibly be in order to secure jobs.
