Contractors 'could benefit from climate change'

Contractors and other professionals in the tourism industry could actually benefit from climate change, according to one expert.
Kay Johnstone, project officer at the UKCIP, said that there will be some business benefits from the increase in temperature.
She continued that although the overall impact of climate change is negative, there is nothing wrong with trying to capitalise on the environmental transformation.
"I don't think it's any longer taboo to talk about the opportunities of climate change while still saying that reducing our emissions is the most important thing," she added.
According to the Guardian, recent reports from Natural England and Network Rail both highlighted the potential of climate change boosting tourism in the UK.
The predicted hot, long summers could make the UK a more attractive tourist destination and even lead to the opening of old rail routes that have long since been abandoned, reports claim.
