Contracting 'to become standard'

Freelancing will one day become the norm, according to futurologist Dr James Bellini.
Speaking at the Freelance Lecture on National Freelancers Day, November 23rd, the futurologist added that and that new technology means that the traditional office will also die off.
According to ContractorCalculator, he pointed out that prior to the industrial revolution, most people were freelancers and said that as contracting becomes an increasingly accepted way of life, people will work from where they prefer to live rather than need to work.
This comes after news that freelancers are happier on average than other workers.
A poll by ComRes sponsored by PCG showed that 73 per cent of those polled have chosen freelancing as a long-term career.
When asked to score their happiness on a scale of one to five, freelancers scored 3.79 for general happiness whereas others scored 3.60.
