Cloud computing 'can help business collaboration'
Cloud computing can help business collaboration by allowing IT contractors to communicate with other staff and access information from anywhere, it has been claimed.

Placing all company data in a virtualised network provides universal access and ensures that all internal departments and IT contractors are working from the same source data, according to online collaboration platform Huddle.

"When you put [data] under the cloud, all of a sudden things become different because no matter where you are geographically, time zones, what device you're on, you can access it," said Andy McLoughlin, co-founder and global vice-president of business development at Huddle.

He went on to say that using cloud computing can improve the overall security of corporate information, as virtualised network providers survive on their ability to keep data secure.

According to a publication by technology research and analysis organisation TechMarketView, by 2012 15 per cent of the UK's entire software market will be delivered via cloud computing.
