Choosing the right IT system 'is essential' for carbon efficiency

Firms may need to recruit more IT contractors, in a bid to ensure they comply with the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRC ESS).
Compliance with this green legislation will mean that firms must be think carefully about what type of IT system best suits their needs, claims Sonny Masero (male), vice president of ecoSoftware, for CA Technologies.
He goes on to say that any firms addressing wider sustainability issues must prioritise the social and environmental risks to their business, which will allow them to develop clearer strategies for IT management.
"Finding the right IT system is key to ensuring that it will remain fit for purpose as the CRC scheme develops over the next five years and also to ensure that maximum value can be derived for carbon management," he said.
According to the latest survey from CA Technologies, 66 per cent of UK businesses believe that implementation of CRC EES will lead to tangible cost savings.
