Businesses 'will start using Windows 7'

IT contractors will see an increase in the number of businesses who want to upgrade their operating systems to Windows 7, it has been claimed.
Many businesses and consumers were disappointed with the introduction of Microsoft's Windows Vista system, however the introduction of Windows 7 has reignited interest in PCs, according to Barry Collins, the features and online editor of PC Pro.
Companies buying PCs in the last two years have either been getting them with the old XP Professional operating system, or downgrading to it from Vista, Mr Collins claims.
"Businesses will increasingly, when they look to upgrade their systems now, look to Windows 7. [Those] buying new PCs now will take Windows 7 and keep it on the system," he added.
In late 2009, it was announced by software company ChangeBase AOK that 41 per cent of businesses expect to migrate to Windows 7 by October this year.
