Bored contractors 'should switch to a different niche'
If contractors begin to detest what they are doing, the answer may be to switch their contracting niche, one expert has said.

Susan Daffron from consulting company Logical Expressions writes on Freelance Folder that when contractors begin to resent their clients, become depressed about their to-do list, fail to focus as well as they used to and grow to be bored, they should switch their niche.

The writer says contractors who wish to change their niche should refuse to take on any new clients in the old field and get rid of any who they particularly do not enjoy working with.

She also advises starting a new newsletter on the niche and stopping the old one and revamping the company website.

Contractors looking for new clients in their niche could utilise social media to do so.

Michael Murray wrote in the Independent that the social media revolution is taking hold in the business community, saying that companies can increase their turnover and head count by optimising it.
