Apple becoming increasingly important to business technology users
As well as being increasingly popular with consumers, the Apple brand is playing an increasingly central role in the business world, new research has revealed.

According to the latest market analysis carried out by Nielsen, the favourite device of the modern-day IT consultant, Research in Motion's Blackberry, still dominates the global smartphone market, with its operating system running on 35 per cent of devices.

However, this represents a two per cent fall on the figure recorded at the end of 2009, with the iPhone OS from Apple found to be making up the ground, with a market share of 28 per cent.

At the same time, the Android platform now accounts for just nine per cent of the smartphone market, with other rivals such as the HTC Desire found to be in the minority.

Meanwhile, the separately-released Mobile Application report, also from Nielsen, has suggested that some IT contractors may not always be working on the go, with the social networking site Facebook found to be the top mobile service among smartphone users. ADNFCR-2994-ID-19823627-ADNFCR
