Prime Minister Praises Thriving Freelance Industry

New research carried out by Kingston Unviversity and PCG has shown that the number of freelancers in the UK now totals 1.56 million. This means that approximately 1 in 20 of the UK workforce are now freelancing.  This figure has risen from 1.4 million which was reported in a previous study conducted by the university in 2008. – an increase of 12%.

The Prime Minister David Cameron has praised the growth in the freelance sector by saying, “I have a huge respect for all those who make the brave decision to branch out on their own and take control over the way they work"

"This Government recognises the valuable contribution that freelancers make to the economy and, as more and more people choose to join your ranks, you have all our support.”
